-Description

The Datejust, Rolex's most famous automatic watch was created in 1945.

It is widely known as a watch that anyone can recognize at a glance from its distinctive appearance.

The Datejust mechanism, which instantly changes the date at midnight, is considered one of Rolex's three greatest inventions, along with the Oyster case and the self-winding Perpetual mechanism, and the Datejust collection is the culmination of all of them.

Ref.1600 is a vintage model manufactured from the 1960s to the late 1970s.

It was the first all stainless steel Datejust model, and its main feature is that it has a polished bezel (smooth bezel) specification.

At that time, Ref.1601 with fluted bezel was widely distributed and was very popular, so the circulation is relatively small and there are not many chances to see this Ref.1600 even in vintage.

The serial number and the engraving inside the caseback indicate that it was manufactured around 1970.

The rounded plexi crystal and the dial with one step down on the outer circumference are details unique to Datejust watches of this age.

The dial is a grey dial with sunray finish.

It is in very good condition with no peeling.

The hands and indexes are the standard combination of bar hands and bar indexes.

Both hands and dial are still coated with tritium luminescent paint, which has aged well.

The movement is an automatic Cal.1570, an early model without a hack function.

It is a highly accurate and durable movement that has passed the chronometer standard and is easy to maintain, so it can be used with peace of mind.

The bracelet comes with oyster folded bracelet 7836 of the same age as the watch.

The clasp code is stamped "71 1st period".

It has 13 links, so it is long enough.

Since this folded bracelet can be fitted to some professional models, a bracelet in good condition with enough links is valuable in itself.

The bracelet itself is traded at around 1200 USD.
