A. Lange & Söhne was founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte on the outskirts of Dresden, the capital of the former Kingdom of Saxony (now Saxony, Germany).

Although the brand was famous for its beautiful and high-quality pocket watches against the backdrop of the court culture of the time, the brand was forced into dormancy when the workshop was nationalized during the division between East and West Germany.

In 1990, following the reunification of Germany, the descendants of the Lange family miraculously revived the company, and continue to produce watches that reflect the founder's spirit of "aiming to make the world's best watches."

It has a reputation alongside the three major Swiss brands of Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin, and is a true Manufacture, with all components made in-house.
A very distinctive feature is that all Lange watches undergo a process known as double assembly..

Saxonia is one of the four models presented in 1994 as the first Lange revival collection.

The name comes from the state of Saxony, and if the Lange 1 is the collection that symbolizes the brand, the Saxonia is the collection that symbolizes the dress watches of Saxony.

The reference 105.022 presented here is one from the 2000s.

The case is made of 18K yellow gold and has a small case size of 34mm, which is not seen in the current collection.

The dial is a symmetrical silver dial. It features Lange's signature outsize date with large date display and sub seconds.

The case back has a transparent back, allowing a full view of the finely finished and engraved movement.

The main plate, which covers most of the movement, is called the “three-quarter plate” and is a symbol of Lange watches. Since the baseplate is untreated, its colour gradually changes over time, giving it an endearing appearance.

It is easier to understand why A. Lange & Söhne watches are so highly regarded than to explain in words.

Full set with box, warranty paper and so on. It is marked as sold in Japan in 2009 and has been fully serviced by the A.Lange Söhne service center in 2020.

It comes with a genuine leather strap and genuine YG buckle.
