-Description

Audemars Piguet was founded in Le Brassus in the Joux Valley by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edouard-Auguste Piguet.

Since its founding in 1875, it is the oldest watch brand consistently managed by the founding family.

Since its foundation, it has been manufacturing complicated watches such as perpetual calendars, chronographs, and sonnerie watches, and together with Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe, it is known as one of the world's three major brands, or "Big Three".

This Ref. 4932 (14932) is a hand-wound dress watch sold around 1995.

It is a very rare model, produced in a limited edition of 50 pieces worldwide to commemorate the opening of the Audemars Piguet museum.

The design is inspired by watches from the 1930s, and it is very classical.

The case material is 18K pink gold. It has a warmer hue than yellow gold.

The case size is 31mm, not too big, just the right size.

The curved lugs in the shape of an eagle's claw, called "claw lugs," are a major feature of this watch.

The dial is off-white, a color that can be described as light ivory.

It has a pear-shaped finish, giving it a relatively matte appearance.

The combination of wedge-shaped indexes and Arabic numerals is very rare.

The small, rounded Arabic numerals are impressive, like those of military watches made during WWII.

The sub seconds at the 6 o'clock position is also circled by a cross, indicating that the design was also conscious of watches from the 30's.

The movement is a manual wind Cal.2085.

This movement is based on Frederique Piguet Cal.810, which was also used for watches in the collections of Edouard Piguet, John Schaeffer, and others of the same period.

The watch comes with a genuine Audemars Piguet 18K PG buckle, a certificate of guarantee at the time of sale, and a certificate indicating that it is a limited edition watch.

The certificate indicates that this watch and the Ref. 4918, a rectangular watch, were sold as a set.

It states that it was made to commemorate the opening of the Audemars Piguet museum (before it became the current museum, Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet), as mentioned above.

It also states that it was inspired by the watch design of the 1930s.
