-Description

Cartier is a French brand that was founded in 1847 by Louis Francois-Cartier as a jeweler, and has a long history in the wristwatch industry. The history of the Santos collection began with the Santos de Cartier in 1904.

It was born when the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont asked Louis-Joseph Cartier for a watch that would allow him to check the time while flying an aircraft without taking his hands off the controls.

Since then, along with the Tank, it has become one of Cartier's most representative watches, and continues to this day.

The Santos Galbee is a vintage model that is now discontinued, and is based on the original Santos, with a design featuring screws from the airplane that inspired its creation.

This reference 1566 is the last model sold as Santos Galbee. The difference from the old model is that the bracelet is extremely strong structure, and the buckle is a seamless double-opening type.

The case is men's size with a width of 29mm. This is the so-called LM size in Japan. Santos Galbee's most standard combination is a stainless steel case with an 18K yellow gold bezel and screws.

A design unique to Cartier, with a mix of sporty atmosphere and elegance. In the photo, it may seem like there is quite a lot of gold, but when you actually wear it, it looks subtle enough to be an accent.

The dial is a combination of a thin ivory color dial, black Roman numerals, and blued steel hands. This kind of dial, which is not currently available in the lineup, is also one of the charms of vintage watches.

The bracelet can accommodate arm circumferences up to approximately 17cm. Some people put off purchasing because they don't have enough pieces, so long bracelets are valuable.

The installed movement is a quartz movement. Because it is battery operated, the watch itself is slightly thinner and lighter than automatic watches.

Maintenance is basically just battery replacement, and overhaul is considered after battery replacement 2-3 times, so maintenance costs are reasonable compared to automatic watches.

Battery has been replaced. The case and bracelet are polished.
